NMPRA Advocacy/Community Service Grants

Recipients

2008-2009

Dr. Sylvia LaCourse
Brown University

Starting in 2007, NMPRA began its Annual Advocacy/Community Service Grants. In the spirit of fostering service and advocacy, NMPRA seeks applicants to design and implement a project that focuses on the needs of both children and adults in their communities. NMPRA will award 1-2 grants annually of $500-$1000 to Med-Peds residents who seek to improve the lives of children & adults in their communities through a advocacy or service project.

Grantees will be asked to present their project at the NMPRA National Meeting and have their work featured in NMPRA's quarterly newsletter, which is distributed nationally. Their project will also be highlighted on the NMPRA website.

Doctor Mom

"I am a practicing Internist & Pediatrician in a suburb of Detroit. That means I see patients of all ages. I would love to educate other parents with some of the vast amount of information in my small brain that cost me a fortune to obtain, both in hours and in dollars. It has been a long, hard road to get where I am today; and I would love to share my thoughts about the journey."

Stories in Medicine
I am a physician practicing Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. This blog chronicles my life first as a medical student, then as a resident. It is about stories of medicine. If you think 'Scrubs' or 'Grey's Anatomy' tells the stories of a resident's life, then here is what it is really like (for one resident, anyway).
